Benavente to Álija del Infantado

Found our first cross with a statue of St James (Santiago) today in Villabrázaro

Even a little place like Álija del Infantado has it's own castleAs we were passing, a man unlocked the castle for us to have a look and said 'Close the door when you leave' so we had the place to ourselves...

Granja del Moreruelo to Benavente

There is a choice of Camino at this point, either west to Orense on the Sanebres Camino or continue north on the Via de la Plata to Astorga - we have chosen the latter.
Nearly 10km again before the first stop in Santovenia del Esla
Nothing else open but at least we could buy some knives....
Thought a Velatorio was a veladrome - turns out it is a funeral director!
