Toledo to Torrijos

We've been promised rain today so aim to walk as far as possible before we get caught.
So, left Toledo before sunrise and enjoyed the walk out of the city whilst it was quiet.... and dry.

Looking back at the city it was easy to see the floodlit escalators snaking up the side of the hill.
Concrete Plant on the edge of town.
We walked mainly on tracks, through fields of peas, wheat and poppies.
We also followed the banks of the murky brown Río Tajo which attracts storks during breeding season before the migrate to Africa.

Stopped for a breather and a 'sello' or stamp for our Pilgrim Passport from Rielves Town Hall
Saw a snail on a Milk Thistle leaf
Avoided the 'Music Park Torrijos' which is a nightclub.
Crossed a railway track - haven't done that for ages.
and reached Torrijos,
all before it started to rain. Then we were in for a treat - thunder and lightning, the works!
NB - they had it worse up north!
